Sponkers in BETA!

Having a hosted site allows me to add and play around with plugins and widgets. though i am working in the IT line, i rarely touched on these items. so it is pretty new to me and i had to read up and learn how to use them. worse of all,i did not really know how to configure a permalink. so off i go on the information highway, trying find out what are these little things and how to play around with them.

as you can see, at the bottom right corner of my main page, there is the Countdown widget, the Skype widget, and also the site counter(Statcounter and getclicky). just a brief explanation of each of these nifty tools.

i am using KB Countdown widget. it allows me to add in a countdown timer with a graph bar.
with it, i can let you guys know what i am looking forward to. as you can see, i am looking forward to getting my new camera, Canon S5 iS. writing this entry also made me realise that i actually made a typo error with regards to the camera model. initally i entered Canon IS I5. what a klutz!

then there is the Skype widget, that allows me to actually display my Skype status, be it
ONLINE or Offline. i have also included the Call ME button which allows Skype users to call mejust at the click of a button. nifty!

lastly, 2 site counters. to be honest, my site traffic is averaging only at 1-2 per day. so why the need for 2 site counters. i am currently testing out Clicky as referred to me by my host and brother Abnerd. i have been using Statcounter since my blogspot days. i am now comparing both to see which is the better of the 2. i will post up my personal opinion of the 2 once i have given both enough observations.

i continue to look for more interesting plugins, and widgets to add in, in the near future.
i will also try to make this site more interesting and interactive or at least i am trying to.

in the mean time, bear with my boring entries and crappy writing style. by the way, do comment on how i could make improve my site be it writing style, font size, contents,template, or if you wish to be shamelessly plugged. whatever, feel free to leave your comments.

Sponkers.com is now in its testing stages. I will be playing around with the themes, plugins and widgets for a while.
So please do bear with any mess that you might see on the site and also the lack of proper updates.

Life is Macau is still pretty mundane. To me, it is still very lacking in a lot of places. Of course that means there is a lot of room for improvement and growth.Just to quote a personal experience, I had to search at least 4 shops before I could find myself some contact lense solutions.
The tap water here at my apartment is dirty, with loads of sediments in it. Makes me wonder if I would get through life in Macau with my health intact or not.

To make life slightly easier for myself, I have gotten a prepaid card to make calls or sms, else I would be pretty cut off from people who does not come online often,i.e. my parents. I am also counting down to getting a digital camera of my choice, Canon S5 IS by November. That is pretty much fixed, but I still need to find out where I could get a good deal for it in Macau. It is tough to shop in Macau.

Next on the list is a bicycle, very likely to be a road bike/mountain bike or whatever bike you call it. Actually I have a tough time deciding which to get. I am tempted to get road bikes for speed after watching OverDrive, a cycling anime(i’m easily influenced by animes) but the traffic conditions is just not good for speed riding. Mountain bikes seems more like the choice but it is tough shopping in Macau. I am also very interested in getting Ipod Touch. It looks very nifty but 8GB or 16GB options only makes it a little low on disk space for my liking. No, I am not going to say tough shopping in Macau again cause I do not intend to get it in Macau.

Other than that, I am still trying to fit in into tiny little Macau. I will be heading over to Hong Kong for the weekend. So look forward to some other updates when I feel like updating.
